NextGen Spotlight: Peter Bullock’s Lasting Legacy In Bergen

Peter Bullock holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and a Master’s in International Business from Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH). As a ship broker at Network Chartering International AS, it's impressive how he balances intercontinental travelling with his active role as a professional basketball player in the BLNO/ENBL for over 20 years. In addition to his playing career, Peter has a strong passion for youth development, coaching the youngest of children from 3 - 12y at Hjellestad Bulls over the last six years and Ytrebygda Lakers (boys born 2013 and 2014) at Ytrebygda Basketball Club.

He’s a true legend and his influence reaches children from across nine schools in Bergen every week; Aurdalslia, Skranevatnet, Søreide, Liland, Hjellestad, Paradis, Hop, Hordvik, and the International School of Bergen (ISB). The young players are privileged to share a close bond with one of the greatest sports legends in Norway. Sounds too good to be true? It only gets better. Peter Bullock’s story cannot be told without honoring his family. His wife Mia, the family’s rock and biggest supporter, has built a life with Peter that reflects shared values of work, loyalty, and community. Together, with their four children—Bella, Maya, Pete, and Benny, they make a positive impact in Bergen, especially with the next generation. As the saying goes, “Behind every successful man stands a strong woman,” and this sentiment rings especially true here. Mia is more than a partner, she brings grace and strength with everything she does from balancing the family to being a powerhouse in business herself. This quality is generational as Mia’s mother (yes, she looks like her sister) is part of the secret sauce that keeps the family together. Peter and his family are also football fans, supporting Sportsklubben Brann along with other sports like handball, swimming, and gymnastics through IL Gneist.

NextGen Neighbor Network, a collaborative effort that brings together schools, sports clubs, cultural organizations, and responsible adults in a designated area to simultaneously address, report, and repair challenges affecting children and young people. With a particular focus on preventing snitching, bullying, violence, drug abuse and crime, we aim to, THROUGH OPEN AND RELIABLE DIALOGUE, to prevent issues from escalating, foster trust and promote proactive solutions.

NextGen Neighbor Network would like to recognize Peter Bullock as a true light within the Bergen community. Through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to youth, he sets the bar on what it means to inspire the next generation. Totally against drugs, as all athletes have to be, he’s leading by example on the court and off the court. Today, we proudly shed the spotlight on Peter—a man whose legacy is etched not just in basketball wins, but in the lives he’s shaped. This year’s playoffs in BLNO marks the 20th anniversary of Peter Bullock’s remarkable journey in Norwegian basketball. Today they play the Final against Kongsberg Miners.
