Our founder, Louise Mohn traveled to Bodø for a discussion on how stronger collaboration between schools, sports clubs, and municipalities is needed for youth health and belonging, using her hometown of Bergen, Norway and the success of the LIM program as a blueprint. Prior to the UEFA Champions League match between Bodø/Glimt and Inter Milan at Aspmyra Stadion, leaders from schools, sport, and public authorities — including Mayor Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen — gathered to discuss how communities can function as one ecosystem around young people. Louise highlighted sport as a vehicle for growth, belonging, and youth development, sharing Bergen’s model of coordinated cooperation between schools, sports clubs, and Idrettsråd, strengthened by Arild Åge Hovland’s LIM program (Lekser, Idrett og Mat), which since 2017 has provided free homework help, activity, meals, and trusted adults to hundreds of children while delivering measurable social and economic impact. Together with Bodø/Glimt’s Ørjan Berg and NTG Bodø’s Anette Nybø along with politicians, Bodø Sports Council, and local schools — the discussion emphasized one unified message: sustainable development for young people is created through shared responsibility, where school, sport, and community operate as one continuous support network.
