Bouna Black Ndiaye has been a member of the Norwegian National Basketball Team since 2016 and is an influential figure both on and off the court. A seasoned professional, Bouna began his basketball journey at an early age, eventually playing college basketball at Northwest Nazarene University in the USA, where he graduated with a double major in Finance and Business Management, and a minor in Accounting. His impressive international career has taken him to professional clubs in the USA, Spain, France, England, Iceland, and most recently, China.
Bouna remains deeply committed to his roots and community in Bergen, Norway. Recently, he confirmed his return to Bergen’s local team, the Fyllingen Lions for the upcoming season, bringing his experience and leadership back home. His return is especially significant as it follows a successful recovery from injury, and he has already made a strong impact, leading as the team’s top scorer. This season, his ambitions extend beyond helping the Lions compete in the ENBL league—he is equally focused on uplifting the local community through his mentorship.
Bouna’s influence extends far beyond basketball. He is passionately committed to giving back, serving as a role model to youth, and working closely with Meteva Sport og Helse, a non profit company that empowers lives locally and internationally. Since January 2023, he has actively participated in community-building efforts, organizing mentorship programs, and fostering cross-cultural partnerships to make a positive impact, particularly for children in Bergen.
With deep cultural roots in both Africa and the Faroe Islands, Bouna understands the importance of community, emotional well-being, and mentorship. His focus on boosting young people’s confidence and helping them feel seen, heard, and valued aligns with his dedication to creating lasting social change.
